Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026
This policy explains what Charge Nomad ("the app", "we", "us") collects and how it's used. It's written to plainly reflect exactly how the app works today.

Your full profile is stored on your device, a basic signup record is kept on our server

When you create an account, we ask for your first name, last name, email address, your EV model, and (optionally) a profile photo. This information is stored locally on your phone, we don't hold a copy of your full profile or photo. We do keep a basic record of your name, email, and vehicle on our server, timestamped to when you signed up, so we can see who's joined. This basic record isn't shown to other users and isn't used for anything beyond that.

Email verification

To confirm your email during sign-up, we send a one-time code to that address. The code is used only to verify it's really you, it isn't stored on our servers afterwards.

Welcome email

If you provide an email address when creating an account, we send a one-off welcome email to that address. We don't send you anything else unless you separately opt in to EV news updates in your profile settings, and you can stop that at any time.

Location

With your permission, Charge Nomad uses your device's location to show nearby chargers, calculate your live driving range on a map, plan trips from your current position, and, if you turn them on, send you local alerts when you're near a saved charger or a stop on a planned trip. This location processing happens on your device. Location data isn't collected or stored by us; it may be sent to Apple Maps, Open Charge Map, or similar routing/mapping services solely to fetch the information you've asked for (e.g. directions), governed by those providers' own privacy terms.

Community submissions

If you add a charger, leave a note, or rate a charger, that submission, including the name associated with your account at the time, is sent to our database and (for chargers and notes) reviewed before it appears publicly on the shared community map. Once submitted, this content becomes part of the shared map data and isn't automatically deleted if you later delete your account, since it isn't linked back to your account by a permanent ID. You can request removal of a specific submission by contacting us.

What we don't do

Third-party services we rely on

Each of these providers processes the minimum data needed to perform its function and is bound by its own privacy terms.

Data sent overseas

Some of the providers above are based outside Australia (Supabase, Resend, and Apple all operate infrastructure in the United States and elsewhere), so information handled by them, such as a verification code sent to your email, or a community submission, may be processed on servers outside Australia. Each provider maintains its own security and privacy standards; we choose providers that publish clear privacy and security commitments.

Your rights

You can access and correct your profile details at any time in Profile → Edit Profile, and delete your account and locally stored data at any time in Profile → Privacy → Delete Account. If you have a question or concern about how your information is handled that isn't answered here, contact us using the details below.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account and all locally stored data at any time from Profile → Privacy → Delete Account in the app. This removes your profile, favourites, trip history, streaks, and savings stats from your device immediately. As noted above, past community submissions and your basic signup record aren't retroactively removed by this action; contact us if you'd like that record removed too.

Children

Charge Nomad isn't directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
